Development Internship
The Development Department is the heart of any nonprofit.
Rodale Institute’s Development Department is seeking a highly motivated intern to gain hands-on experience in a wide variety of development tasks such events, email, online giving, print campaigns and more. The ideal candidate will be a deadline oriented, enthusiastic self-starter who enjoys working on a wide variety of tasks. The skills and tactics you will learn with us are 100% transferable across the nonprofits industry.
Responsibilities Could Include:
- Assist Development team with events such as the Leadership Society Dinners, Seasonal Organic Dinners, Annual Organic Field Day, Homecoming, Spring Organic Market, etc.
- Assist with Organic Hero Box campaign (June-Nov)
- Provide support for digital and print giving campaigns
- Assist with Alumni and Perennial Partners outreach
- Grant writing assistance, as needed
- Work in our Customer Management System (CMS) to research perspective funders and conduct general maintenance of donor record
- Assist in organizing and updating archive of all digital and print campaigns
- Support monthly renewal mailing
Candidate Qualifications:
- Previous experience or coursework in Marketing, Communications, Sales or Nonprofit management
- Interest in organic agriculture, food, farming, and the environment
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Desire to help make the planet a better place
Additional Information:
Location: Rodale Institute Founders Farm, 2056 Minesite Rd, Allentown, PA 19103. Please note that this is an in-person internship. We are unable to accommodate hybrid and/or remote work.
Compensation: An ideal candidate will complete this internship for college credit or monetary compensation ($12.50/hour). Organic produce from the farm is occasionally available during the growing season.
Schedule: An ideal candidate for a summer internship could commit to at least 20 hours/week for a minimum of 8 weeks. An ideal candidate for a spring or fall internship could commit to at least 15 hours/week for at least 8 weeks.
