Finding Edible Options for Cover Crops in California Organic Vegetable Rotations

In California (in addition to many other parts of the country) high costs associated with farming can dissuade organic growers from incorporating cover crops and reduced tillage practices to their operation. Since 2024 the team at the Rodale Institute California Organic Center has been exploring how cover crops that can be harvested may offset some of the costs while improving the conditions of the soil and pressure from weeds.
