In 2018, Rodale Institute began a 6-year study on the effects of agricultural practices on watershed health and clean water. Data from the Institute’s own Farming Systems Trial has revealed that conventional systems leak herbicide into the water table; this new study looks at both conventional and organic systems and their comparative effects on soil health and water quality. Dr. Atanu Mukherjee will share updates on the research, which is funded by the William Penn Foundation.
