Organic Farmers Association
The Organic Farmers Association is a national membership organization with the mission to provide a strong and unified national voice in support of organic farming and farmers for the benefit of the public.
OFA’s purpose is to build and support a farmer-led national organic farmer movement and national policy platform in support of organic farming by:
- Developing and advocating for organic farming policies that benefit organic farmers and the general public;
- Strengthening and supporting the capacity of organic farmers and organic farm organizations through educational activities and outreach;
- Supporting collaboration and leadership among state, regional, and national organic farm organizations;
- And welcoming support and cooperation with like-minded individuals and organizations
Process & Policy
Organic farmers are at the core of who we are and why we do what we do. OFA develops and advocates for policies that benefit organic farmers, and supports collaboration and leadership among state, regional, and national organic farmer organizations and individual farmers.
To determine the policies and priorities for the year, OFA surveys members around the country. During this process, growers and producers have the opportunity to voice challenges and express opinions on important issues. Following the results OFA’s Policy Committee and the OFA members work to make those policy goals a reality.
