About the Organic Farming Certificate Program

Students spend three terms at Delaware Valley University where you will take courses in commercial vegetable production, organic food and fiber, sustainable agriculture, plant health, soil biology and many more. Each term you will participate in a hands-on experiential practicum at one of our partner farms so you are immediately applying what you’ve learned during the program. Students who complete the program leave with the knowledge and experience necessary to start a small-scale organic farm or work for an organic operation. The program offers assistance with job placement and developing business plans so that you can seamlessly move right into rewarding careers in organic agriculture.

You can take your courses at Delaware Valley University on a part-time or full-time basis. You may apply to start during any term (fall, spring and/or summer) and courses in the certificate program may be applied toward a bachelor’s degree in Sustainable Agriculture at DelVal.
