SUMMARY:Webinar: Can Organic Dairy Meet Science-Based Climate Goals?
DESCRIPTION:The Science-Based Targets Initiative is the leading framework for corporate climate action\, used by over 10\,000 companies globally\, including some of the world’s biggest dairy brands. But the details behind corporate climate plans are rarely shared publicly\, so it can be hard to evaluate the science behind a science-based target. In this webinar\, we use data from a fast-growing organic yogurt company\, Painterland Sisters\, to assess the feasibility of meeting science-based targets for organic dairy. We show that SBTi’s “near term” targets are readily achievable for organic dairy. But SBTi’s “long term” net-zero targets appear to be currently unfeasible. We share some alternative long-term ideas for climate and dairy\, including “fossil fuel free” dairy and separate goals for methane and other greenhouse gases. \nPanelists will include:\nFranklin Egan and Matty Rotman\, Painterland Sisters \nSage Dennis\, Rodale Institute \nRegistration\n\n \n PhoneThis field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged.Name*\n \n \n \n First\n \n \n \n \n Last\n \n \n Email*\n \n Zip/Postal Code*\n Register \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\nCompleting this form signs you up for electronic communications from Rodale Institute. SUMMARY:GOOD GRAIN Film Screening
DESCRIPTION:Join us at the Rodale Institute for a screening of GOOD GRAIN with filmmaker Jared Flesher & NOFA NJ on February 25\, 2026 at 6 PM. \nImagine: Next door lives a hardworking organic farmer. Each summer you watch majestic fields of wheat mature from green to gold. And then the harvest. \nAt a new stone mill down the road\, a miller grinds the farmer’s wheat into whole grain flour\, sold just days old at the local market. At a small bakery on Main Street\, a sourdough baker sells artisan loaves. At the corner pub\, a craft brewer pours pints brewed with local ingredients. \nIt all tastes amazing. \nOnce upon a time\, American communities were centered around their farmers\, millers\, and food artisans. GOOD GRAIN is the comeback story of the local grain movement\, as found in New Jersey\, the original Garden State. \n\nAbout the Filmmaker \nJared Flesher is an award-winning documentary filmmaker whose short and feature films explore a wide range of environmental subjects. Jared has been called “New Jersey’s leading environmental documentarian” by the NJ Society of Professional Journalists. He was the recipient of an Artist Fellowship for Film & Video from the NJ State Council on the Arts in 2024. In 2022\, his film Pine Mud won the Mid-Atlantic Emmy Award for Documentary. \nJared is a former editor of Edible Jersey magazine\, and has contributed reporting to news outlets such as the New York Times Online and Wall Street Journal Online. He regularly creates multimedia content for the Princeton University Office of Sustainability. \nThis gathering is designed to bring together farmers\, millers\, brewers\, buyers\, and other supply-chain partners from both sides of the Delaware River to connect\, share insights\, and explore opportunities for collaboration.
