DESCRIPTION:Nothing says fall like a basket of organic apples! Visit Rodale Institute’s sprawling apple orchards this autumn and pick your own organic apples. Apple picking will be open to the public starting September 15th\, and will run until there are no more apples on the trees or until we close the orchards to press cider with the remaining fruit. Pick-your-own hours are Tuesday-Saturday 10am-3pm. Open rain or shine.  \nWhen you’ve picked your fill of fruit\, visit our sunflower and zinnia plots to pick a beautiful bouquet (or get a perfect Insta post)!

Unfortunately\, due to the spread of COVID-19\, and in accordance with Pennsylvania’s recommendation to suspend gatherings larger than 10 people\, we are cancelling the event. We hope to organize another volunteer day later this year\, but in the meantime\, we encourage you to get outside on your own. Garden\, go for a walk\, pick some wildflowers — and we hope to see you soon! \nJoin Rodale Institute to celebrate Earth Day by volunteering at our 333-acre organic research farm! Begin with a tour of the farm\, followed by jumping in with our farm team to help prepare for the upcoming growing season. Activities could include planting\, weeding\, caring for animals\, and more! Snacks and beverages\, as well as gardening supplies for purchase\, will be available at the Rodale Institute Visitor Center. Please dress for the farm and don’t forget your gardening gloves! \nThere is no admission fee for this event. Space is limited\, pre-registration is required. \nPlease arrive at or before 1:00 PM.
