FARM MEMBERSHIP

Farm Membership Criteria
A farmer seeking farm membership with the Organic Farmers Alliance (OFA) should meet the following criteria:
• Hold a current U.S. organic crop, wild crop and/or livestock certificate.
• Endorse the mission, vision, values and guiding principles of OFA.
• Pay the annual OFA membership dues.
• Complete OFA farm member form/application.

Farm Member benefits:
• A strong national voice representing organic farmer interests; tools and training.
• Access to timely information critical to the organic farmer’s operation.
• One Farm, One Vote:  In our membership structure, every certified organic farm, and every certified organic farmer, is created equal. Regardless of the size of an operation, the farmer gets one vote on policy and regulatory issues. Everyone has a voice at the table and everyone is represented equally. Must be a member in good standing.
• Representation by OFA Lobbyist.
• Opportunity to share information among farmers from across the nation.
• Bi-annual issues of our membership publication New Farm Magazine.
• A 40% discount to all Rodale Institute workshops and free access to our educational webinar series. View all workshops and webinars at our events calendar.
• Access to Organic Farmers Association logo to use on their website or promotional materials.

Farm Membership dues²:
1. $100 per Farm (certificate)
2. At a reduced rate of $75 if farm currently holds a farm membership with an OFA organization member.


ORGANIZATION MEMBERSHIP

Organization Membership Criteria
An organization seeking membership with the Organic Farmers Alliance (OFA) must meet the following criteria:
• Be a local, state, regional or national organization that provides support to organic farmers.
• Be active in and committed to support certified organic food, farming and farmers.
• Endorse the mission, vision, values and guiding principles of OFA.
• Promote OFA membership.
• Pay OFA membership dues.
• Complete OFA organization member application.
• Be accepted by OFA as an Organization Member.

Organization Member benefits:
• Tools and training to engage your farmer members in policy- services to support engagement.
• Ability to bring forward farmer-generated policy proposals for OFA consideration.
• Farmer discussions of state, regional and national policy and regulatory proposals.
• Opportunity for seat on the OFA Governing Council.
• Bi-annual issues of our membership publication New Farm Magazine.
• A 40% discount to all Rodale Institute workshops and free access to our educational webinar series. View all workshops and webinars at our events calendar.
• Access to Organic Farmers Association logo to use on their website or promotional materials.

Organization Membership dues³:
1. $250 per Organization Membership; with their farmer members joining OFA at a reduced OFA Farmer or Supporter Membership rate of $75 through the Organization Member.
*Scholarships could be made available if cannot afford for Organization Member or Farmer Members, on a case by case basis.


SUPPORTER MEMBERSHIP

Supporter Membership criteria:
• Supporter membership is open to any individual who is not a U.S. certified organic farmer and any organization that doesn’t meet the criteria for organizational member.  This membership includes non-certified organic farmers, organizations, sustainable farmers, consumers, students, researchers, and any other individual or group interested in supporting a strong voice for organic farmers.
• Pay OFA membership dues.
• Complete OFA supporting member application.

Supporter Member benefits:
• Bi-annual issues of our membership publication New Farm Magazine.
• A 40% discount to all Rodale Institute workshops and free access to our educational webinar series. View all workshops and webinars at our events calendar.
• Access to Organic Farmers Association logo to use on their website or promotional materials.

Supporter Membership dues:
1. $100 per Membership

new-farm-fall-2016New Farm Magazine: New Farm Magazine, which has existed for organic farmers since 1979, will be mailed to all Organic Farmers Association members. Issues will be mailed in spring and fall. Content will include research, industry news, farming methods, member profiles and more!
