Agriculture Supported Communities (ASC) is a farm share program that offers a weekly selection of organic produce and pasture-raised proteins to families in the Lehigh Valley and Berks County areas.

ASC allows you to pay week-to-week, rather than upfront as in a traditional Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) model. Members that participate in SNAP can use federal SNAP dollars to pay for discounted shares. By purchasing a share, you’ll become a stakeholder in Rodale Institute and a direct supporter of your local food economy.

Memberships are accepted on a rolling basis year-round. Full-season shares run from June until the end of October.

Vegetable Shares

Registration for the 2020 season is open now.

Veggie shares include a mix of products grown in our fields and high tunnels. We strive to offer variety while providing a good selection of the basics. Individuals paying with Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits will receive $10 off per week for any size vegetable share*. Should you choose to pay the full cost upfront, a portion of the payment will be considered a tax-deductible gift.**

Vegetable Share Size Weekly Full Season
Small $20 $10 for SNAP members $500
Regular $30 $20 for SNAP members $750

Returning for 2020: The Mobile Market

The Mobile Market is a portable farm market stand, helping to expand the reach of the ASC program and bring healthy food to more people, especially communities underserved for fresh organic fruits and vegetables.

Mobile Market Pop-up Locations

During the growing season (May to October) the Mobile Market will be featured at numerous “pop-up” market locations around the Lehigh Valley area.

Check back for 2020 dates and locations.

Farmers Markets

Farmers markets are open to members and non-members who wish to purchase Rodale Institute produce and meat in addition to goods from neighboring farms. We offer bread, cheese, and honey from other local, organic vendors.

Find us each week at the following markets May–mid-October. Please check with individual markets for exact dates. Individuals paying with Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits will receive half off the price of produce (up to $10 off) when purchasing. We also accept Farmers Market Nutrition Program and WIC vouchers.

Meet the Phyrillas Family

When Andrea and Louis’s son was diagnosed with severe autism, they learned that changes in diet would be key to his recovery. Already struggling with mounting bills from doctor visits, they didn’t know how they would afford this change. Our ASC made it possible.
