Rodale Institute Education Program Vision:

Rodale Institute aims to expand and grow our global educational platform by building onto our existing foundation of educational offerings (including our Virtual Campus) with the goal of educating exponentially more farmers and consumers worldwide and showcasing our position as the “go-to” education source for the regenerative organic movement.

Director of Education Job Description:

The Director of Education at Rodale Institute will be tasked with overseeing the creation and execution of all educational initiatives, including farmer training, consumer education, field days, workshops, webinars and more. This candidate will have a strong background in digital product development, SEO, content and curriculum generation, and have excellent written and oral communication skills. The Director of Education will work very closely with the Director of Marketing and Master Trainer and will also have a unique focus on consumer education.

Essential duties & responsibilities:

  • Identify growth areas for Rodale Institute’s educational offerings, including target audiences, new customer acquisition, engagement, and other metrics for success.
  • Oversee all Rodale Institute farmer training programs, such as the Organic Farming Certificate Program, Veteran Farmer Training, and RIFT programs.
  • Build on our existing online education platform by identifying market opportunities for online courses and webinars to reach a greater audience.
  • Identify and write grants to fund education initiatives and program expansion.
  • Amplify our educational content by working closely with Director of Communications on web content, videos, social media, and more. Specifically, by growing Rodale Institute’s presence and audience on YouTube and leveraging this platform to sell more courses.
  • Develop additional on-site educational engagement opportunities such as tours & workshops.
  • Oversee department budget and manage a diverse team.
  • Help execute education-related grant deliverables.
  • Develop surveys and follow-up with course participants for feedback as well as to survey the market on new opportunities for expansion.

Qualifications:

  • Incredibly organized, with the ability to work with diverse programs and staff to develop a comprehensive strategy and execution.
  • Excellent communications skills (both oral and written) with the ability to represent Rodale Institute in speaking engagements, media interviews and more.
  • Proven track record in creating digital content and course curriculums, including the marketing of those courses.
  • Strong and visionary leadership skills.
  • Experience with grant writing preferred.
  • Knowledge and passion for regenerative organic agriculture.
  • Strong understanding of distance learning technology and initiatives.

Education:

  • Master’s Degree in Education, Marketing, or related field preferred.
