SUMMARY:Webinar: Maximize Tine Weeder Performance: Strategies\, Resources\, and Model Selection
DESCRIPTION:Tine weeding is one of the most effective methods of “blind cultivation” on organic farms. However\, tine weeder performance varies dramatically with different models\, settings/adjustments\, and timing. In this webinar\, Rodale Institute crop consultants and guests will compare tine weeding models and discuss tine weeding strategies to improve early season weed control for corn and soybeans. The webinar will cover newly available models and commonly available used options\, as well as resources for farmers to improve decision making about timing and aggressiveness of tine weeding passes. \n\n \n FacebookThis field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged.Name*\n \n \n \n First\n \n \n \n \n Last\n \n \n Email*\n \n Zip/Postal Code*\n Register \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\nCompleting this form signs you up for electronic communications from Rodale Institute. SUMMARY:Webinar: Climate-Smart Project Update
DESCRIPTION:This webinar aims to educate participants about the Southern Piedmont Climate-Smart Project. This project is growing regenerative agriculture in the southeast. This $25 million project has over $6 million in cash and non-cash incentives for organic and conventional farmers\, farmers markets\, and market producers participating in the project and located in the Southern Piedmont. Working throughout the Southeastern U.S.\, we’re partnering with vegetable farmers to adopt farming methods that support the local ecosystem. We’re also helping farmers markets promote the climate-smart crops grown in the study. \nAt this state in the project\, we are still in the process of recruiting conventional and naturally grown/organic farmers. If you can’t participate or aren’t in the Piedmont\, but you know someone who is\, please reach out to project lead\, Dr. Kristie Wendelberger (kristie.wendelberger@rodaleinstitute.org) \n\n \n PhoneThis field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged.Name*\n \n \n \n First\n \n \n \n \n Last\n \n \n Email*\n \n Zip/Postal Code*\n Register \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\nCompleting this form signs you up for electronic communications from Rodale Institute. SUMMARY:Virtual Coffee Hour: Mid-Large Scale Organic Grain Production in Central Great Plains
DESCRIPTION:The Central Great Plains region is vast and largely rural\, with some communities particularly isolated by their geography. To help foster community building and provide technical assistance to farmers Rodale Institute Consulting Services will host monthly virtual “coffee hours” for 6-months. We believe that the frequency\, open structure\, and small-mid size of the group will be conducive to deep and meaningful conversations.  \nWho should sign up?\nProspective\, transitioning\, or already-certified organic grain farmers in Eastern Colorado\, Western Nebraska\, Western Kansas\, Western Oklahoma. \nWhat can participants expect?\nLéa Vereecke\, organic agronomist based in Colorado\, will facilitate the meetings. Participants will be encouraged to share any questions\, comments or concerns relevant to organic and organic transition on their farm or in general. The facilitator will ensure that conversations remain focused on organic and transition to organic and introduce more topics as they see fit. \nRegistration:\n\n \n X/TwitterThis field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged.Name*\n \n \n \n First\n \n \n \n \n Last\n \n \n Email*\n \n Zip/Postal Code*\n Register \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\nCompleting this form automatically signs you up for electronic communications from Rodale Institute.
