SUMMARY:Saticoy Sowers Workshop Series - From Farm to Sale: Know Your Food System\, Navigate your Market
DESCRIPTION:From farm to market and everything in between — Saticoy Sowers is a workshop series designed to help farmers build resilient farms and thriving businesses. Eight workshops\, real skills\, and a community of growers to learn alongside. \n🕓Wednesdays 4–6pm\n🗓️June 3rd through July 22nd\n📍Rodale Institute California Organic Center \nEvery farm exists within a larger food system — and understanding that system is the first step to finding your place in it. This workshop grounds farmers in how food moves from field to consumer\, then gets practical: comparing sales channels like direct-to-consumer\, wholesale\, and intermediaries\, like food hubs\, and finishing with how to identify your ideal customer and craft a marketing approach that fits your values and operation. \nDetails\nDate: June 3\, 2026 4-6 PM PST \nLocation:\nRodale Institute California Organic Center\, 1014 W. Ventura Blvd.\, Camarillo\, CA 93010 \nCost: $25 \nRegistration

SUMMARY:Saticoy Sowers Workshop Series - Know Your Soil: Texture\, Chemistry\, Biology
DESCRIPTION:From farm to market and everything in between — Saticoy Sowers is a workshop series designed to help farmers build resilient farms and thriving businesses. Eight workshops\, real skills\, and a community of growers to learn alongside. \n🕓Wednesdays 4–6pm\n🗓️June 3rd through July 22nd\n📍Rodale Institute California Organic Center \nKnow Your Soil: Texture\, Chemistry\, Biology / Conoce su suelo: textura\, composición química y biología \nSoil is the foundation of everything you grow. This workshop introduces farmers to the physical\, chemical\, and biological dimensions of soil health. We’ll cover how to assess your soil texture with hands-on tests\, how to read and interpret a soil lab report\, and how the soil food web supports long-term farm resilience. By understanding what’s actually happening beneath your feet\, you’ll be better equipped with regenerative practices to make informed decisions about how you cultivate. Pairs well with Feed Your Soil\, Feed Your Plants\, but attendance not required. \nDetails\nDate: June 10\, 2026 4-6 PM PST \nLocation:\nRodale Institute California Organic Center\, 1014 W. SUMMARY:Webinar: Can Organic Dairy Meet Science-Based Climate Goals?
DESCRIPTION:The Science-Based Targets Initiative is the leading framework for corporate climate action\, used by over 10\,000 companies globally\, including some of the world’s biggest dairy brands. But the details behind corporate climate plans are rarely shared publicly\, so it can be hard to evaluate the science behind a science-based target. In this webinar\, we use data from a fast-growing organic yogurt company\, Painterland Sisters\, to assess the feasibility of meeting science-based targets for organic dairy. We show that SBTi’s “near term” targets are readily achievable for organic dairy. But SBTi’s “long term” net-zero targets appear to be currently unfeasible. We share some alternative long-term ideas for climate and dairy\, including “fossil fuel free” dairy and separate goals for methane and other greenhouse gases. \nPanelists will include:\nFranklin Egan and Matty Rotman\, Painterland Sisters \nSage Dennis\, Rodale Institute \nRegistration\n\n \n EmailThis field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged.Name*\n \n \n \n First\n \n \n \n \n Last\n \n \n Email*\n \n Zip/Postal Code*\n Register \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\nCompleting this form signs you up for electronic communications from Rodale Institute. SUMMARY:Saticoy Sowers Workshop Series - Growing with Intention: Certification\, Crop Planning\, & Beyond
DESCRIPTION:From farm to market and everything in between — Saticoy Sowers is a workshop series designed to help farmers build resilient farms and thriving businesses. Eight workshops\, real skills\, and a community of growers to learn alongside. \n🕓Wednesdays 4–6pm\n🗓️June 3rd through July 22nd\n📍Rodale Institute California Organic Center \nGrowing with Intention: Certification\, Crop Planning\, & Beyond / Cultivar con un objetivo claro: certificación\, planificación de cultivos y mucho más \nRecord-keeping and crop planning are two sides of the same organic compliance coin: your crop plan sets the intention for what you will grow and when\, and your records prove what actually happened from seed to sale. In the first half of this workshop\, we will cover why recordkeeping is required for organic certification\, which records matter most\, practical templates and peak-season habits that make inspections easier. In the second portion\, we will delve into a practical guide to developing the right crop plan for your operation\, examining all factors from finances to season extension. \nDetails\nDate: June 24\, 2026 4-6 PM PST \nLocation:\nRodale Institute California Organic Center\, 1014 W. SUMMARY:Saticoy Sowers Workshop Series - IPM Part 1: Creating a Farm Ecosystem
DESCRIPTION:From farm to market and everything in between — Saticoy Sowers is a workshop series designed to help farmers build resilient farms and thriving businesses. Eight workshops\, real skills\, and a community of growers to learn alongside. \n🕓Wednesdays 4–6pm\n🗓️June 3rd through July 22nd\n📍Rodale Institute California Organic Center \nIPM Part 1: Creating a Farm Ecosystem / MIP parte 1: creación de un ecosistema agrícola  \nHealthy farms don’t just happen — they’re designed. In this first of two Integrated Pest Management (IPM) workshops\, we explore the foundation of the IPM pyramid: cultural practices that work with nature to build resilient\, thriving farm ecosystems. Through companion planting\, crop rotation\, and native plant installations\, you’ll learn how to promote biodiversity and create conditions where a healthy ecosystem does the pest management for you. Part 1 of a two-part series. Attending Part 2 after is recommended but not required. \nDetails\nDate: July 1\, 2026 4-6 PM PST \nLocation:\nRodale Institute California Organic Center\, 1014 W. SUMMARY:Organic Grain Aggregation and Transportation - Adding Value by Understanding Logistics
DESCRIPTION:Grain is often not consumed in the same area where it is produced\, and individual farmers are rarely able to fill five rail cars at a time. Aggregation and logistics play a huge role in the value chain of organic grains. Join us for this webinar to hear from Matt Nidlinger of Wenger Group and Brian Williams of LaBudde on how organic grains are moving around the country and what farmers can do to add value to their operations. \nThis event is supported through the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Transition to Organic Partnership Program (TOPP). TOPP is a program of the USDA Organic Transition Initiative and is administered by the USDA Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) National Organic Program (NOP). \nDetails\nDate: July 8\, 2026 12 – 1 p.m. EST \nLocation:\nVirtual\, via Zoom \nCost: FREE \nRegistration \n\n \n \n Organic Grain Aggregation and Transportation - Adding Value by Understanding Logistics\n Register for our 7/8/2026 Organic Grain Aggregation and Transportation - Adding Value by Understanding Logistics. 12 pm -1 pm EST. \n \n LinkedInThis field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged.Name*\n \n \n \n First\n \n \n \n \n Last\n \n \n Email*\n \n Phone NumberState*AlabamaAlaskaArizonaArkansasCaliforniaColoradoConnecticutDelawareDistrict of ColumbiaFloridaGeorgiaGuamHawaiiIdahoIllinoisIndianaIowaKansasKentuckyLouisianaMaineMarylandMassachusettsMichiganMinnesotaMississippiMissouriMontanaNebraskaNevadaNew HampshireNew JerseyNew MexicoNew YorkNorth CarolinaNorth DakotaOhioOklahomaOregonPennsylvaniaPuerto RicoRhode IslandSouth CarolinaSouth DakotaTennesseeTexasUtahVermontVirginiaWashingtonWest VirginiaWisconsinWyomingZip/Postal Code*Farm or Organization NameI am a...*\n \n \n Farmer/Producer\n \n \n \n Processor/Handler\n \n \n \n Buyer\n \n \n \n Other\n HIDDEN Lead Status\n Register \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \nCompleting this form automatically signs you up for electronic communications from Rodale Institute. SUMMARY:Organic Grain Selling: Roleplaying to Help You Connect and Do Business with New Buyers
DESCRIPTION:One of the hardest parts about selling organic grain is getting bids from multiple buyers in your area. But it’s worth the effort! Since there is likely to be a price spread between buyers. And sometimes it’s as much as 10% or more. This webinar will explore basic steps in finding and reaching out to organic grain buyers in your area. It will also discuss what to do once you get a merchandiser/buyer on the phone\, in terms of discovering what crops they buy\, what volumes\, when they make new contracts\, and\, most importantly\, price discovery. We will also roleplay a phone call between an organic grain farmer and an organic grain buyer. \nDetails\nDate: July 9\, 2026 12 – 1 p.m. EST \nLocation:\nVirtual\, via Zoom \nCost: FREE \nRegistration \n\n \n \n Organic Grain Selling: Roleplaying to Help You Connect and Do Business with New Buyers\n Register for our 7/9/2026 Organic Grain Selling: Roleplaying to Help You Connect and Do Business with New Buyers. 12 pm -1 pm EST. \n \n InstagramThis field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged.Name*\n \n \n \n First\n \n \n \n \n Last\n \n \n Email*\n \n Phone NumberState*AlabamaAlaskaArizonaArkansasCaliforniaColoradoConnecticutDelawareDistrict of ColumbiaFloridaGeorgiaGuamHawaiiIdahoIllinoisIndianaIowaKansasKentuckyLouisianaMaineMarylandMassachusettsMichiganMinnesotaMississippiMissouriMontanaNebraskaNevadaNew HampshireNew JerseyNew MexicoNew YorkNorth CarolinaNorth DakotaOhioOklahomaOregonPennsylvaniaPuerto RicoRhode IslandSouth CarolinaSouth DakotaTennesseeTexasUtahVermontVirginiaWashingtonWest VirginiaWisconsinWyomingZip/Postal Code*Farm or Organization NameI am a...*\n \n \n Farmer/Producer\n \n \n \n Processor/Handler\n \n \n \n Buyer\n \n \n \n Other\n HIDDEN Lead Status\n Register \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \nCompleting this form automatically signs you up for electronic communications from Rodale Institute. SUMMARY:From Farm to Brand: Adding Value to Organics
DESCRIPTION:Organic value does not stop at the farm gate. It is created and captured through the markets we build the relationships we nurture and the stories we tell from soil to shelf. \nThis virtual webinar explores how farmers\, food makers\, and organic entrepreneurs can move beyond selling raw commodities to intentionally design value added products and market pathways that reward organic practices.\nThrough real world case studies and practical examples\, we will examine how successful organic businesses have transformed crops into brands’ brands into categories and products into resilient value chains. \nParticipants will learn how today’s conscious consumers make buying decisions where value is gained or lost along the organic supply chain and how small shifts in product format function audience or narrative can unlock new markets. Whether you are selling at farmers markets working with regional distributors pitching retailers or building a direct-to-consumer presence this session will help you see your organic product not just as food but as part of a larger market system you can shape. \nDetails\nDate: July 14\, 2026 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. EST \nLocation:\nVirtual\, via Zoom \nCost: FREE \nRegistration \n\n \n \n From Farm to Brand: Adding Value to Organics\n Register for our 7/14/2026 From Farm to Brand: Adding Value to Organics . 12:30 pm -1:30 pm EST. \n \n NameThis field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged.Name*\n \n \n \n First\n \n \n \n \n Last\n \n \n Email*\n \n Phone NumberState*AlabamaAlaskaArizonaArkansasCaliforniaColoradoConnecticutDelawareDistrict of ColumbiaFloridaGeorgiaGuamHawaiiIdahoIllinoisIndianaIowaKansasKentuckyLouisianaMaineMarylandMassachusettsMichiganMinnesotaMississippiMissouriMontanaNebraskaNevadaNew HampshireNew JerseyNew MexicoNew YorkNorth CarolinaNorth DakotaOhioOklahomaOregonPennsylvaniaPuerto RicoRhode IslandSouth CarolinaSouth DakotaTennesseeTexasUtahVermontVirginiaWashingtonWest VirginiaWisconsinWyomingZip/Postal Code*Farm or Organization NameI am a...*\n \n \n Farmer/Producer\n \n \n \n Processor/Handler\n \n \n \n Buyer\n \n \n \n Other\n HIDDEN Lead Status\n Register \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \nCompleting this form automatically signs you up for electronic communications from Rodale Institute. SUMMARY:Saticoy Sowers Workshop Series - Regenerative Animal Systems
DESCRIPTION:From farm to market and everything in between — Saticoy Sowers is a workshop series designed to help farmers build resilient farms and thriving businesses. Eight workshops\, real skills\, and a community of growers to learn alongside. \n🕓Wednesdays 4–6pm\n🗓️June 3rd through July 22nd\n📍Rodale Institute California Organic Center \nRegenerative Animal Systems / Sistemas animales regenerativos \nAnimals are one of the core pillars of regenerative agriculture — and integrating them thoughtfully can strengthen the ecosystems you’re already cultivating. This workshop explores how farm animals can be woven into existing operations in ways that support the farm as a whole. We’ll cover the care requirements of common farm animals to help you evaluate which species align with your capacity\, and discuss the advantages and potential challenges of each so you can make an informed decision about what integration looks like for your farm. \nDetails\nDate: July 15\, 2026 4-6 PM PST \nLocation:\nRodale Institute California Organic Center\, 1014 W.
