Please join us for an Organic Field Day at Flolo Farms. Participants will have the opportunity to interact one-on-one with Rodale Institute’s Midwest Organic Center staff and team of Organic Crop Consultants, and learn about our research and demonstration projects focused on organic agriculture and tailored for farmers in the Midwest. This event is ideal for all farmers, whether you are interested in learning more about organic farming, have an interest in free consulting services to transition to organic, or are currently a Midwest organic farmer.

This is a free event and will be part of Loran Steinlage’s annual Flolo Farm Field Day week of events.

  • 9 am – 9:30 am: Networking and Introductions:
  • 9:30-11:30 AM: Livestock Integration – Rodale Institute Midwest Organic Center Farm Manager, Drew Erickson
  • Noon-1 PM: Lunch
  • Noon-1 PM: Presentation & Q+A – Erin Meyer, Basil’s Harvest and Harold Wilken, Janie’s Mill
  • 1–2 PM: Presentation & Q+A – Rick Clark, Farm Green
  • 2–3 PM: Organic Field Crop Production Presentation & Q+A – Joel Gruver, Western Illinois University Associate Professor of Soil Science
  • 3-3:30 PM: Organic No-Till Farming Presentation – Drew Smith, Chief Operating Officer/Chief Scientist and Léa Vereecke, Organic Crop Consultant, Rodale Institute
  • 3:30–4: Wrap Up
  • 4:30-5:15 PM: Networking, Equipment Display
