Cheap food could be a thing of the past

Higher prices for processed foods that depend on foreign oil may be a boon to the local-food movement, according to this New York Times article.
As the price of oil and commodities climb so, too, will the cost of nutritionally bankrupt ingredients such as high-fructose corn syrup. Such an economic shift at the grocery store checkout may be a boon to purveyors of locally grown and raised, wholesome foods.
