Farm Photo Friday: February 7, 2014

Every Friday we share some snaps from our 333-acres in Kutztown, PA. Our photographers? The staff members who keep this farm chugging along. Enjoy a sneak peek at what’s going on here at Rodale Institute!

Another beautiful winter sunrise over the icy Honeybee Conservancy.

Today, this cart will need to be rewired in order to make it road worthy.

Ross Duffield, Farm Manager, enjoys this project in the warm workshop.

Rae Moore is back! She is working in our research department. Here she is, ready to get started with some plant biomass taken from FST which will be analyzed for macro-nutrient content levels.

This is Irwin, up close and personal. I believe he is searching for his Valentine.

Lily and Houdini in their new house.

Zorro was rather defiant today, maybe even a bit salty. He was making some awfully weird faces.

From this angle, Zorro is almost Elvis-ish. Can you hear him? “I get so lonely, baby…”

Lewis seems to be ready to get back work on his ox-training, while Clark seems to want to sit this one out.

And now, here is a short series on the piglet / shoelace connection.

#1. Piglets love to untie shoelaces.

#2. To stop the shoe-untying madness, you must get to higher elevation.

#3. It only works for a few moments while you retie your shoes and plan your escape. Here you can see their suspicion increasing.

#4. If you wait too long, they will find you. Quickly. They will untie your shoelaces again immediately.

Don’t forget… Show your organic love!
