Every Friday we share some snaps from our 333-acres in Kutztown, PA. Our photographers? The staff members who keep this farm chugging along. Enjoy a sneak peek at what’s going on here at Rodale Institute!
Rae Moore & Dr. Gladis Zinati from our research team enjoy a few warm moments in the greenhouse, while outside that old wintry wind is just whipping across the farm.
Here is Ross Duffield, our Farm Manager, as he knocks down massive piles of snow… to make room for more massive piles of snow! Last week’s weather really whooped up on us out here at the farm!
Sam Moll, Seasonal Greenhouse Manager and seasoned shoveller.
Tomorrow something very exciting is happening here at Rodale Institute. Sam Moll and Molly Sweitzer will be instructors at the Indoor Seed Starting workshop! Here you can see that we have already started some of our own seeds in the greenhouse.
And some of them have already started to sprout! Can you guess what these are?
(They are baby Brassicas)
Here Sam and Mary are busy tending to the ferns, which require quite a bit of clipping.
This Indoor Seed Starting workshop sure didn’t plan itself. Molly and Sam have been working hard on this to make sure that participants really get their money’s worth. It’s gonna be sensational!
Of course, no matter the weather, Kevin Breen can always be caught in the act of taking great care of all our livestock. Here is Kevin mucking out the spring house where our 3 new litters of piglets are still holding tight with their mamas. Keep it up Kevin!
Megan Kintzer and Coach are in Austin, Texas, at a very special event, the Whole Foods Tribal Gathering! One of the many things their exhibit shows is microscopic images of living soil. There is nothing cooler than nabbing your first nematode!!
No joking, we have a lot of ferns. And they need a lot of clipping. Sam and Mary are back on the job!
Here is a sneak peek at some of the goodies up for sale to all who registered for tomorrow’s Indoor Seed Starting workshop. Haven’t registered yet? There’s still time! Click here.
