Farm Photo Friday: December 6, 2013

Every Friday we share some snaps from our 333-acres in Kutztown, PA. Our photographers? The staff members who keep this farm chugging along. Enjoy a sneak peek at what’s going on here at Rodale Institute!

Introductions are in order! Please meet our newest addition here at the farm, Zoro. He’s an extraordinarily handsome buck and he is making himself right at home.

One of our young oxen in training, Clark, is acting as chaperone to our Nigerian Dwarf Goat ladies, Iris, Daisy and Rose. Out of view, Zoro, the new buck pictured above, waits patiently for his chance to impress the ladies.

Here we have Molly Sweitzer and Sam Moll as they drill holes for the tree stands into the organic Christmas trees we’ve prepared for our Holiday Open House & Sale event this Saturday from 11am – 3pm. Don’t miss it!!

Curious chickens enjoying the lingering warm weather with some exercise.

Dr. Gladis Zinati and Britny Kondravy are weighing corn grown as part of our Farming Systems Trial to calculate the yields – and it looks like they’re managing to enjoy it!

These trees aren’t going to lift themselves boys, get to it!

Don’t forget… ‘Tis the season to give.
