Event Description:

Backyard Chickens

April 26, 2014

10 am – 1 pm

Want to have chickens in your backyard and get fresh eggs every day? Come see our chicken operation and find out how easy it is to start your own. Our instructors will show you how to start and make the chicks part of your family. We will talk about cost, breeds, options in housing, how to feed and keep them healthy, some challenges with predators and how to handle them. You’ll take home a list of books and other resources that will simplify your project and shorten the time from start to finish, so you can enjoy a fresh egg from your own chicken in no time.

Instructors: Hue Karreman, VMD and Ross Duffield
