WORKSHOP FULL (02/11/13)!
Please consider signing up for Dr. Ingham's next Soil Microscopy class October 9th, 2013. We are also considering adding a summer class if there is enough interest. Please contact Maria Pop at 610-683-1481 or firstname.lastname@example.org if you are, in fact, interested in a summer session.
This intensive course will give participants the knowledge and skills to assess the quality of soil, compost and compost extracts on their own, without the inconvenience and repeated expense of sending samples to a commercial lab.
The course program includes a set-up and operation techniques section followed by identification of organism groups: bacteria, fungi, protozoa and nematodes.
A course requirement is that participants bring their own microscope and soil, compost or compost extract for assessment. You will need a microscope with 4X, 10X, and 40X objective lenses (40X is critical), and 10X eyepieces.
For those of you who would like to buy one of the microscopes that we use in our Soil Microscopy classes and recommended by Dr. Ingham, we negotiated with the seller a 10% discount. Here is a link to their page for online orders:
The coupon code is "RODALE10P" (all in capital letters). The discount applies to the 4 microscopes sold with a camera. Make note that the discount does not apply to the M8311E microscope without the camera (item number 9401756).
All shipping is free to US and Canada.
