Life in the Soil, Compost Tea/Extract

Rodale Institute

Event Description:

WORKSHOP FULL!

Please consider signing up for Dr. Ingham's Fall session of classes scheduled from the 4th to the 9th of October 2013.

Join Rodale’s Chief Scientist and microbiologist Dr. Elaine Ingham for a comprehensive look at compost extract technology. You probably heard about compost tea before but the evolving technology has changed the way we make and use liquid extracts of compost. This class will address: standards, recipes, water sources, brewing cycles, aeration, microbial populations, lab assays and equipment. The class includes use of a microscope to identify organisms present in various recipes and live demonstrations of brewing operations in the Rodale Institute’s labs.
