Organics fare well in TIME story on fixing US ag crisis
Look at all the costs of producing food and all the benefits of eating it to truly evaluate agricultural approaches: what a concept. TIME magazine used this line of wholistic analysis, long proposed by organic advocates, to look honestly compare sustainable and industrial production systems.
Farming dependent on chemicals shows up to be much more expensive than is typically thought, given the “cheap food” stream that shows up in Big Box stores when all the costs—to land, water, climate and human health—are weighed. In overall investment, organic and more biologically based systems show up as better long-run options.
