Businesses, Extension join to fund new four sustainable ag courses

Marin County, California, will have new crops of students with deeper experience and knowledge about organic and sustainable agriculture thanks to investment in new courses at the College of Marin.

The initiative will see the hiring of a farm manager for a new 2-acre organic farm, buying farm equipment and adding an irrigation system, and collaborative development of new curriculum for the fall. A total of 26 industry partners joined the effort to boost an entrepreneurial workforce for organic and sustainable local food systems.
