Organization pushes for local food at the White House

Kitchen Gardeners International is an organization that encourages people to grow their own food. Its most-recent endeavor is to get the White House its own kitchen garden. Personal gardens are appealing both because food does not have to travel hundreds of miles to its destination and because they address recent food safety concerns (not to mention taste and nutritional benefits).
