Victory gardens will help San Franciscans feed themselves
San Francisco’s Department of the Environment and Garden for the Environment have developed a project intended to help residents grow organic produce. The program, called “Victory Gardens 2008+” will encourage residents to plant on unused land like their own backyards. Pilot gardens have already been started and will be available for tours and educational purposes. The ultimate goal of the project is to “create a community of urban food producers” by giving residents the information they need to grown their own produce. Full story: sfvictorygardens.org
