Safety of GM crops called into question

Europe continues to be wary about the safety of genetically engineered crops, with commissioners there recently overturning a verdict by the European Food Safety Authority that three new types of GM crops posed no environmental or health risk. The crops in question were a new genetically engineered potato and two types of maize. A flood of emails from European citizens has also supported caution where GM crops are concerned. Full story
