Testing for antibiotics in the environment

Scientists from the Agricultural Research Service in Beltsville, Maryland, and the Czech Republic have teamed up to create a field kit for testing for the presence of antibiotics. The overuse of antibiotics in both animal production and to treat human ailments have led to their presence in the environment, including waterways and compost. This test lets farmers and others look before they contaminate. Full story
